Minutes from the
Kerrie
Kraft, President called the meeting to order at
Mrs. Burg
opened the meeting with a prayer.
Everyone
signed the sign in sheet for the voucher giveaway.
Pat Wallace – Getaway Vacations presented a fundraiser for us to
consider. These are considered drive to
vacations
(over 28 locations) for 3 days
and 2 nights valued at $560, fundraising price $40. It is a 50/50 profit for OLA
and the company. Students sell the vacations for $40. The vacation can be taken at any time. Sales tax
and occupancy taxes occur for
the trip. The $40 covers the hotel
stay. Usually the hotel requires a room
deposit which is refunded at the
end of the stay. The cost covers 2
adults and 2 children; additional fees apply
for additional rooms, etc.
There is no “time share” presentation.
Very credible company worked with Cola-Cola, Pesi, etc. You can view the
website: www.getawayincentives.com for more
information. Mr. Wallace recommends
offering to both parishes and the community to boost your sales. The Officers will review and ask for input
for final decision on this fundraiser.
Kerrie Kraft
requested minutes from last meeting to be approved. Rita Herr motioned to
approve and Chrstine Snyder second the motion.
School Board Update: Kerrie Kraft updated us on the last
meeting. The annual appeal letter is
being sent out. The goal this year is
$50,000. The Hall of Fame Reception is
Treasurer’s Report- our fundraisers and participation
are both down. The pie sale shows
$277.05 but an outstanding profit of roughly $250 has yet to be turned in to
the Treasurer. The Christmas Bazaar is
not a fundraiser, but we do profit in some ways from it. It is for our children
and their enjoyment. We buy merchandise
from a vendor for the children to buy. If we purchase for $.83 we mark up to
sell for $1. This year any item that was
purchased for $5/$6 was NOT marked up.
Next year looking for another company to purchase the gifts.
St
Nick- A big thank you to Beth Wolgemuth
and Michele Haberstroh for a great job. Prayer
service, Ornaments, ice cream and a visit from St Nick was enjoyed by all
children.
Christmas
Bazaar- Thank you to all the volunteers, we had an exceptional amount of
volunteers this year!

ÆITBS:
(Iowa Tests of Basic Skills): Given
to grades 3-8 and Diocese requests this to be done yearly.
It looks for growth, strengths
and weaknesses and development level through Stanine Bands with 1 being LOW
LOW and 9 being HIGH-HIGH.
Mrs. Burg is very pleased with the results and stresses that you need to
compare your child’s growth from year to year. Also, she recommends you do not
need to share results with the children.
The test does not always test what has been taught. The teachers review
the results and focus on the weaknesses to improve.
ÆThis year Mrs. Burg is spending a day
with each class to observe. Today she spent with the second grade!
