Minutes from the
Kerrie
Kraft, President called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Burg opened
the meeting with a prayer and Salute to the Flag.
Approval of
prior meeting minutes – Kelly Brommer motioned to approve and Bonnie Reich
second the motion.
Everyone
signed an index card who qualified for the tuition voucher.
Treasurer’s Report: Christine Snyder. Joe Corbi’s $2,222.25, Hoss’s Night $512 and
Used book sale $172.75. Basket Bingo
profit $3,084.85. Total amount in our
account is $14,159.99. A donation of
$11,000 was given to Mrs. Burg for the school.
Principal’s Report: Mrs. Burg
1. Birthday year was a big success
filled with many activities.
2. Family Dance was not well attended,
but was a fun night for all. H & S
Association may replace their Bingo Night with a Family Dance Night since the
bingo night was not well attended this year.
3. Final Birthday Celebration is
5/28/08.
a. Living Rosary by 8th
grade.
b. Toast to OLA by 8th grade.

d. Prayer partners for party bingo; Mrs.
Haberstroh and Mrs. Wolgemuth picked up the prizes and organized the event.
e. Mrs. Spicer and Mrs. Detz worked on a
book to remember this year that year child completed a page about themselves.
The book will go away for the next school anniversary in 10 years.
4. Social Studies Books will be replaced
next year for grades 4-8. The money for
the books came from the State and is worth $8,000.
5. Next year school theme is “COME
FOLLOW ME” the 12 Apostles.
6. Enrolled for next school year are 186
children. 195 is what was in the budget;
Mrs. Burg will contact families to see is they are returning. The school paid off the loan this year that
they had from the Diocese for $25,000.
7. Neuman Scholarship – 120 applied; 15
families on hold on the website that need to respond. The website is www.psas.org.
$145,000 is available for distribution.
8. Next year the 7th and 8th
graders will be split into boys and girls for gym and art classes. Studies show their performance in these areas
is better when separated.
9. Recess next year will be prior to
lunch.
10. Mary Helm resigned in the
cafeteria. We will try a few months next
year with only 3 cafeteria workers. Mrs. Scott will be in the PB and the other
two ladies will be in the EB.
11. August 2008 there will be 2 New
Parent Nights: K3 & K4 and K5 thru Grade 8.
12. Middle States Evaluation-the oral
report given was very good, we met every standard. The results will be shared with all in the Fall.
13. Mrs. Burg will look into a few areas
of concerned mentioned by parents at the meeting: 7-8 Grade Honor Society, Scholastic Writing,
Science and Engineering Fair and the Track and Field Event.
Basket Bingo
was a nice success for our first one.
Thanks to Kerrie Kraft, Jill Hartman and Claudia Reese for organizing
the event. We made $3,084. The presentation was beautiful and the
baskets were great. Thanks to Hal Snyder
for being a great announcer!
After much
discussion we plan to keep our fundraisers in tack that we had this year.
Adding a Race for Education in October chaired by Tina Sumpman.
Next year
the H & S will give 2 $500 vouchers to parents who attend all
meetings. It is a thank you for your
help!
Holly Lyle
will be Secretary and Claudia Reese will be Vice President next year. Kelly Brommer and Rita Herr will be finished
with their terms. Thank you to all.

will present Father Hahn with a farewell gift from the children at the last
