Mrs. Burg’s Principal Report

  1. Middle States-Sister Katherine Clark from a Philadelphia school was here and met with each classroom.  She described our school as a “Peaceful” place.  She would like to meet with a group of parents to talk about OLA, if you are interested let Mrs. Burg know.  The Middle States group will meet with parents, teachers and students to discuss OLA.  When they are finished with their visit they will give an oral report to the teachers and review the written report with Mrs. Burg.  Sometime in the fall of 2008 we will find out if we are accredited.

  1. New Social Studies books are being reviewed for next year.

  1. 4/2/08 is the school Philadelphia trip.  6 school buses will go taking K-5 thru Grade 3 to the zoo and Grade 4 thru Grade 8 to historic sites of the city.  We will pack our lunches.  Mass will be celebrated in the morning together with Father Joshua Brommer.  A parent ask if the children could bring Ipods, MP3’s on the bus?  That is being reviewed. Chaperone’s are being contacted and assigned to buses.  A final notice will go out regarding that day shortly.

If anyone is interested in running for VP or Secretary let Kerrie Kraft or Kelly Brommer know.

Fundraisers for 2008-2009: Heather Zink will take on the Pie Sale next year.  Looking for new Holiday Bazaar chairs? Also, Spring Wolfgang?

Race for Education was discussed. Tina Sumpman will investigate about a possible launching of this fund-raisers next year.  We would like to try to start up on our own without uses the company who takes part of your fees.  St. Joe’s school in York participates and could offer us some advice.  This will be looked into.  Also, a possible Dance a Thon.

Mentor Program-Possibly next year give the new families an option if they would like to have a mentor and have a specific family mentor list.  We will survey the new families and see if that found it helpful.
