Minutes from the November 8, 2005 Home & School Association Meeting

 

7:00 pm – Father Lawrence opened with a Prayer

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Mrs. Burg gave an Update:

 

A letter concerning the cafeteria survey will be sent home.  The cafeteria will currently stay as is, some changes may occur later.

 

New Uniforms – Flynn & O’Hara will be our new supplier.  Keep current uniform for now.  When you need to order something new, that is when you will receive the new uniform style.  Logo will be slightly different – two color.

 

Pictures available from previous yearbooks to be sold during the meeting.

 

Pastries for Parishioners was this morning and went over very well.

 

Parent/Teacher Conferences Monday, November 14, 2005.  No School.

 

The school is looking into a new math series for next year.

 

Kelley Andrews gave an update of the fundraisers:

         Bridge Bust – Made about the same as last year. $379.00

         Kid Stuff – Less than last year so far. $1,458.00

         Subs – More than last year.  $893.00

         Parade – 5th place, $50!

         Wolfgang – More than last year.  $8,322.00

 

Open discussion on athletic socks, what is acceptable – cover ankle bone.

 

Wolfgang candy delivery and pick up will be at the Primary Building on Friday, November 18, 2005, between 9:30 and 5:30 pm.

 

Chairperson for the Christmas Bazaar:  Michele Julg presented the items displayed for the Bazaar.  Donations will not be needed this year since we are going with the Holiday Shoppes program.  However, we will use the donated items left over from last year and the ones some people have sent in already.  We may have a preview night for Parents on Wednesday, December 7, 2005.  The Bazaar is Thursday and Friday, December 8 & 9, 2005.  We discussed options for crafts and activities other than cookie decorating for this year.

 

Movie Night – Friday, November 18, 2005; Santa Clause 2; Doors open at 6:30 pm, Movie starts at 7:00 pm.  Treats available before start of movie.

 

Quarterly Tuition Drawing winner – Don Steinfelt.  Congratulations to the Steinfelt family.

 

St. Nick Day will be handled by Beth Wolgemuth this year.

 

Home Room Parents will receive a letter shortly.  Handling of teachers Christmas gifts was discussed.

 

Beth Bossert mentioned Culture Day as part of the responsibility of Home Room Parent to coordinate with the teacher, dress and food of culture, music, etc.  Kindergarten will get to select their country first.

 

Mrs. Spicer had a baby girl on Sunday, November 6, 2005.  Congratulations to her and her husband.

 

Window clings information will be coming home soon.  They will be sold as a Spirit Sale.

 

Discussion of gym uniform purchase in January instead of December.  Already committed to December.  Maybe consider selling again in January.
