NEUMANN
SCHOLARSHIPS
Your registration packet is included in this envelope. In that packet
you will find a worksheet to determine if you are eligible for the Neumann Scholarship.
If you determine you are eligible you may request an application from either
office and we will be more than happy to send one home. I ask that you do this
as soon as possible in case we need to order more applications. Thanks to the
generosity of businesses Our Lady of the Angels families will receive $125,000
in tuition assistance.

our school, while you save for college!
We are pleased to announce that Our

this program, you can raise money for our school by participating in select Upromise programs, such as dining out or shopping online.
And as a Upromise member,
you can also save for your child’s college education. It’s a win-win for our
school – and for parents like you! Learn more about this exciting new funding

CONGRATULATIONS
Second
graders at St. Peter Church and Holy Trinity received the Sacrament of
Reconciliation for the first time this past month. Congratulations boys and
girls.
HAIR
STYLES
I am aware that hair styles come and go. For some of our boys their
haircuts are unacceptable. As a general reference for the boys, their bangs
should be about mid forehead so that they are not hanging in their eyes when
they are working and the hair in the back is not to be on the collar. The girls
are to wear hair accessories that complement the colors in the uniform not
extreme or fluorescent colors. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
CLASS
RETREATS
Many of our classes have scheduled their retreats for the next several
months. We pray that they will take this opportunity to become closer to Jesus.

LENT
On Fridays during Lent our children will participate in either Stations
of the Cross or Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. These prayers begin at
2:00pm and are geared toward the children. The students will also participate
in weekly prayer services focusing on the Stations of the Cross. The students
at the
GRADES
Grades
for the second trimester will close on Friday March 2nd.
VOLUNTEERS
We are very grateful to the parents and relatives that are able to help
us out in the classrooms, cafeteria and at special events. There may be times
when something happens while a volunteer is supervising a class. If that is the
case I would ask that the parent who has the concern contact either the teacher
or me and not the volunteer. I appreciate your continued support of Our Lady of
the Angels.

DANGEROUS
PRACTICE
We ask that you NOT
drop or pick up children on the opposite side of the street. This is for your
child’s safety. As a principal I witnessed one accident where a child was hit
crossing the street and I certainly DO NOT want it to happen again. Please
follow the instructions for dropping your children off and picking them up for
their safety.
LCHS
PLACEMENT TEST
On Monday February 26th, our 8th graders will be
taking the LCHS placement test. Members of the LCHS faculty will be coming to Our
Lady of the Angels to administer the test. All students will be given the test.
There is no cost involved.
SPRING
CONFERENCES
There is a half day scheduled for conferences on March 22nd.
Parents or teachers may request conferences at that time. You will be
receiving your child’s second grade report on March 9th. There will
be a form to schedule a conference included with the grade report. That form MUST be retuned on Monday the 12th
so that all conferences can be scheduled.
School district will NOT provide busing at the early dismissal on March
22nd.
VOLUNTEER
WANTED
The Middle States Steering Committee is looking for someone who would
be able to draw a diagram of each of the buildings. This is needed as part of
our study as well as a tool for the review team that will be visiting in the
spring of 2008. If God has given you this gift and you are willing to share it
please contact the school office.

ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION NEWS
Basketball season is about over and our students worked
hard. Some teams had better win-loss
records than others but all players gave it their best and represented OLA
well. I am sure they all grew in their basketball skills and knowledge as a
result of their efforts. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for a
hard fought season. I am sure we will
hear many great stories at the Basketball Sub Night.
Basketball Sub Night will be Thursday April 12, 2007 from
6:00-8:00. There will be a
sign-up/registration form in the March 2nd Friday folders. When you receive the form please fill it out
and return it so we can plan for the food.
Basketball uniforms should be returned to team coaches after
the season. Coaches will then bring them
to sub night or return them to the school to the attention of Mrs. Chmiel.
Baseball/Softball registration went well and we have teams in
several divisions. If you have questions
about the baseball or softball program contact Hal Snyder.
Nominations for the offices of President and Secretary will be
accepted until March 2, 2007. If you
would like to nominate someone fill out the nomination form included in this
folder and return it to the school office.
PLEASE BE SURE ANYONE YOU NOMINATE IS WILLING TO SERVE.
The next meeting is Feb.28, 2007 at 6:00 in the
